The 5G mobile experience continues to change as more smartphone users embrace 5G and operators expand their 5G networks. South Korea and Taiwan are vying for the leading 5G experience but there is lot of movement across the APAC region.

Opensignal looked at 21 markets in our first Group Video Calling Experience analysis in the APAC region. Our users experienced the most seamless video conferencing on mobile devices in Japan and Singapore.
Benchmarking the Global 5G Experience – April 2021
Cities have a significantly better 5G experience than the national 5G results. For example, users in the city of Jeonju in South Korea have a 5G Download Speed of 415.6 Mbps which is 15% faster than South Korea's overall result.

We've recently analyzed the overall mobile network experience of users in Taiwan. In that report, Chunghwa won three awards outright — Video Experience, Download Speed Experience, and 4G Coverage Experience — but when we look at the experience using the latest 5G mobile technology we see different winners.
Benchmarking the global 5G user experience – December update
Across these 15 countries analyzed, users see 5G download speeds that are 5 to 6 times faster than 4G. In every country 5G is much faster than 4G.
