Benchmarking the LATAM 5G Experience — July 2023
In this first benchmarking piece on 5G experience in Latin America, Opensignal looks at the experience of mobile users across seven markets that have already deployed commercial 5G services — and quantifies the uplift in experience compared to 4G. Brazil and Guatemala are regional leaders in terms of speed and experiential metrics — however, our 5G users in Puerto Rico connect to 5G services for the highest proportion of the time.

Tigo and WOM are the big winners in the awards table — both securing four outright award wins out of the 10 total categories available in this report. Notably, WOM takes home Video Experience, Games Experience and Voice App Experience awards, in addition to the newly introduced Consistent Quality award. Tigo secures all of the speed and availability metrics awards. Claro takes its only leading spot for Coverage Experience.

In this USA 5G Experience report, Verizon leads the national award count with five outright wins — including the newly introduced 5G Live Video Experience. T-Mobile retains 5G Download Speed and 5G Availability.

Vodafone has the fastest overall experience in Oman. However, Omantel comes top for 5G Download Speed and Ooredoo takes the 5G Upload Speed award.
USA, July 2023, Mobile Network Experience
In Opensignal's latest USA Mobile Network Experience report, T-Mobile dominates the awards table again, with six outright wins out of a possible eight. Verizon now wins Voice App Experience seizing the award from previous winner T-Mobile, while AT&T successfully defends Availability as its sole outright win
