Mobile Experience during the COVID-19 pandemic: 4G Download Speed
Globally, operators report mobile data use is increasing dramatically but Opensignal’s analytics demonstrate that despite these challenges the mobile experience is holding up well. Opensignal has seen only relatively small changes in users’ 4G Download Speeds in some countries, and none at all in other countries.

Portugal’s operators have made good progress across nearly all of our metrics and all three are now offering 4G availability in excess of 80%, with Vodafone reaching the 90% mark for the first time. Vodafone remains the operator to beat, claiming six out of our seven awards and tying for the remaining award.
The State of Mobile Video Experience 2019
In one year mobile Video Experience has significantly improved in 59% of 100 countries analyzed. But the U.S. is lagging behind on mobile video as carriers face a spectrum crunch. Uniquely, Opensignal tests mobile video streaming at scale and does not estimate video experience based on speed tests or other indirect measurements.

Our users on all three of Portugal's operators have seen their mobile Video Experience improve, with all the country's networks now gaining Very Good scores (65-75 out of 100) — meaning mobile video should load quickly and stream without stuttering, even at higher resolutions.
