Quantifying the speed bar for a reliable mobile experience
Mobile users are all too familiar with the situation of having a good mobile signal but with a connection that is not good enough to stream video reliably, browse the web, share photos, or do whatever else with their phone. In Opensignal’s new analysis we quantify the level of experience which mobile users are able to rely upon across 20 international markets.
Benchmarking the 5G Experience – EMEA – June 2021
As more EMEA operators deploy higher speed 5G in more locations we will see the 5G experience improve significantly. The wide differences in 5G experience indicate how much there is still to do. But already, 5G download speeds are considerably faster than 4G, and 5G offers an improved mobile video streaming experience.
The State of Group Video Calling Experience – Europe, Middle East and Africa
Opensignal has analyzed 30 countries in Europe and 18 in the Middle East and Africa in our first mobile Group Video Calling Experience report for the MENA region. In Europe, the Netherlands turned out to be the unchallenged winner, with an astounding score of 92.4 points.

The Sunrise/UPC merger’s implications for Switzerland’s mobile and fixed broadband markets
The merger of Sunrise and UPC Suisse (UPC) will have far-reaching implications for Switzerland’s telecommunications landscape. Opensignal has assessed the proportion of users for each of Sunrise’s mobile operator rivals that used UPC as their internet service provider (ISP). We have found that a significant majority of our users who used UPC as their ISP relied on operators that are not UPC or Sunrise (or the latter’s sub-brands) for their mobile connectivity.
Benchmarking the Global 5G Experience – April 2021
Cities have a significantly better 5G experience than the national 5G results. For example, users in the city of Jeonju in South Korea have a 5G Download Speed of 415.6 Mbps which is 15% faster than South Korea's overall result.
