Introduction
In Opensignal's first 5G Experience Report on the Czech Republic, T-Mobile rakes one outright win for 5G Upload Speed — and four joint wins across six categories. O2 follows closely, bagging the 5G Download Speed award outright and three more shared victories, while Vodafone ends with a haul of four joint wins. All three operators jointly win the three 5G experiential awards — 5G Video Experience, 5G Games Experience and 5G Voice App Experience.
High scores achieved by its national operators place the Czech Republic among the global leaders for 5G experience. In the latest Benchmarking the Global 5G Experience report, the Czech Republic made it into the Top 15 markets for 5G Upload Speed, along with all three experiential metrics — 5G Video Experience, 5G Games Experience and 5G Voice App Experience.
O2 was the first mobile operator in Czech Republic to launch its 5G network in July 2020, while Vodafone and T-Mobile followed suit shortly afterwards in October and November 2020 respectively. According to operators’ claims, Vodafone covered more than 50% of Czech population in November 2021 with its NSA network, while T-Mobile targeted to cover 25% of Czech citizens by the end of 2021.
In this report, we examine the 5G experience of our users on the three main mobile network operators in the Czech Republic: O2, T-Mobile and Vodafone, over the 90 day period beginning on November 1, 2021, and ending on January 29, 2022, to see how they fared. We have also published a companion report — Czech Republic Mobile Network Experience — which analyzes the overall experience of all our mobile users in the Czech Republic.
