Higher usage and congestion affects the Egyptian mobile experience
This Opensignal analysis shows the impact that congestion has on Egyptian mobile users' experience. Average download speed, mobile gaming experience and user experience when watching videos all decline rapidly throughout the day — from the quietest period in the early morning, to the busiest period, in the late evening.
More spectrum leads to faster speeds and better video streaming in Asia Pacific
Opensignal data shows that APAC users observe twice or even thrice as fast 4G download speeds and around 50% faster 5G download speeds when there are large amounts of spectrum bandwidth connected compared with low amounts. Video streaming services also benefit from increased spectrum bandwidth — however, the difference is more marked on 4G than 5G.

MTN leads the award count with five recognitions secured outright and five jointly. Vodacom is the sole winner of three and the joint winner of a further six awards. Telkom secures its only outright win for Availability, along with two more shared wins, while Cell C has three joint wins to its name.
Across most UK regions, overall download speeds are rising
In this analysis, we look at the year-on-year (YoY) change in our users’ overall and 5G download speeds across the U.K.’s regions between Q2 2022 and Q2 2023. Across the U.K. overall download speeds are on the rise, with year-on-year (YoY) increases across most regions. However, 5G download speeds have fallen in nine out of 12 regions.
Brazilian smartphone users observe major disparities in mobile network experience
Opensignal is looking at what proportion of our smartphone users in Brazil struggle with subpar mobile network experience, both nationally and across different states. Around one in five Brazilian users have an average download speed below 10Mbps or a Poor Video Experience.
