Mobile download speed recovery stories vary in markets around the world
To understand what the new normal looks like for mobile experience, Opensignal is updating our previous analysis of the impact of the pandemic and changed user behavior on the mobile experience with new data.
Quantifying the Impact of 5G and COVID-19 on Mobile Data Consumption
Opensignal has analyzed data consumption in 20 leading 5G markets and discovered the extent to which 5G users are consuming more data than their 4G peers. We have also analyzed overall data consumption in 65 markets.

In this report we see large increases in the 5G Download Speed experience by our users compared with the last 5G report in December on Taiwan's four major 5G operators. For the first time, we present several new Opensignal awards for 5G Games Experience, 5G Video Experience, 5G Voice App Experience and 5G Reach.

Quantifying the speed bar for a reliable mobile experience
Mobile users are all too familiar with the situation of having a good mobile signal but with a connection that is not good enough to stream video reliably, browse the web, share photos, or do whatever else with their phone. In Opensignal’s new analysis we quantify the level of experience which mobile users are able to rely upon across 20 international markets.
