Global 5G benchmark: South Korea’s retreat on mmWave threatens its 5G leadership
South Korea’s leadership position in 5G experience is at risk as other markets deploy mmWave 5G ahead of South Korea. While South Koreans enjoy the fastest overall 5G download and upload speeds in the world, and spend the second highest time with a 5G connection — called 5G Availability — other markets are enjoying a further greater experience boost from mmWave 5G.

In Opensignal's latest analysis of Sweden's mobile network experience we see a close contest between the national operators on the awards table. Both Telia and 3 are taking home 10 awards in total, but the most outright wins is with 3 this time round, with its outright wins for Availability and both of the consistency metrics.
Quantifying Norway’s urban-rural mobile experience divide
In this Opensignal analysis, we have looked at how Norway’s mobile network experience varies across rural and urban areas. In addition to this we have also looked at similar surrounding markets for comparison — Denmark, Finland and Sweden. We have found that our urban users in all four countries see faster average download speeds than their rural counterparts. However, the rural-urban divide for Download Speed Experience is smaller in Norway than in neighboring countries.
