Quantifying Norway’s urban-rural mobile experience divide
In this Opensignal analysis, we have looked at how Norway’s mobile network experience varies across rural and urban areas. In addition to this we have also looked at similar surrounding markets for comparison — Denmark, Finland and Sweden. We have found that our urban users in all four countries see faster average download speeds than their rural counterparts. However, the rural-urban divide for Download Speed Experience is smaller in Norway than in neighboring countries.

In the fourth Global Mobile Network Experience Awards report, Opensignal once again directly compares operators from around the world to recognize those on which our users had the best mobile experience. We have added two more measures of the mobile experience: Excellent Consistent Quality and Core Consistent Quality.

Our analysis reveals stiff competition between all three national operators. Nine of the 14 mobile experience awards are shared by two or more operators. Despite this, Telenor wins outright in Download Speed Experience and both consistency awards, while Telia wins outright in 5G Video Experience.
