By Andrey Popov, January 2024

Here we review the progression of mobile network user experience that took place over 2023. By examining the Download Speed Experience during the year-end three-month periods of both 2022 and 2023, we have identified a clear positive trend in network performance across the regions of Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa, and the Asia Pacific, which have exacerbated the experience gap seen between markets that existed before.

By Ian Fogg, June 2023

The 5G experience continues to evolve. More markets are launching 5G. In this latest global 5G benchmark, Opensignal quantifies how the real-world 5G experience compares.

Lack of 5G spectrum hurts Poland’s 5G experience

By Robert Wyrzykowski, April 2023

Poland compares poorly with other Central and Eastern markets for 5G experience. For 5G Video Experience, 5G Download Speed, and 5G Upload Speed Poland has the lowest average score out of the eight markets. Remarkably, the 5G download and upload speeds experienced by our Polish users are much slower — average 5G download speeds are just 77.8Mbps — than in other nearby international markets. Poland’s challenge is the small amount of new spectrum suitable for 5G services that is available for Polish operators. However, Polish 5G users spend more time connected to 5G services than some of their CEE counterparts.

Croatia, April 2023, Mobile Network Experience

By Robert Wyrzykowski, April 2023

We observe several changes in the awards table in the latest Croatia Mobile Network Experience report. For the first time in Opensignal’s mobile network experience reports, Telemach wins both consistency awards — Excellent Consistent Quality and Core Consistent Quality — outright, while also claiming 5G Availability all to itself. HT pulls ahead of its competitors for both 5G speed awards and is now the sole winner of 5G Download Speed and 5G Upload Speed.
